PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Design and procure all merchandising articles related to the Eclipse-City programs in Russia and China; make sure highest profits result from selling Eclipse-City merchandising articles through Eclipse-City programs and web-shop |

PRINCIPAL DUTIES
Merchandising |

Purchasing policy and planning |
 |
Purchasing project prioritization and management |
 |
Managing suppliers, relationships, SLA's (service level agreements) |
 |
Setting, monitoring and managing quality and QA systems |
 |
Effective proactive liaison with other departments (product managers and sponsoring / incentive manager) as necessary to forecast, plan to meet, and to supply demand to relevant quality |
 |
Negotiating and administration of purchasing contracts |
 |
Price setting, cost saving budgeting and targeting |
 |
Setting and planning how to achieve supplier accreditation and service level management |
 |
Administration and reporting as necessary |
 |
Payment terms negotiation, optimization and management |
 |
Stock and merchandising articles management |
 |
Warehousing, distribution, shipping management |
 |
Packaging and transport regulatory awareness, compliance and information communication |
 |
Health and safety compliance |
 |
International trading issues/imports/legal, awareness and management |
 |
| Communication |
 |
Liaise with international media and broadcasting companies (CNN, BBC, Vox Tours, ZDF, NASA TV, Discovery Channel, China TV, Russian TV Networks, Print Media and Inrnet) to ensure broadcasting of eclipse from Eclipse-City locations and meet sponsors requirements |
 |
Prepare (write and edit) day-to-day (Eclipse-City) and sponsors statements (collect from PR and Communication department from sponsors partners) and news for aforementioned media |
 |
Make sure Eclipse-City's image and contacts to sponsors and official stakeholders are atop. |
 |
Prepare PR campaign and lobby with local tourism boards |
 |
Be the number one source of external Eclipse-City communication, worldwide. |
 |
Be in charge for "The Making Of Eclipse-City" film and documentary |
 |
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED
At least four years experience in public relation, marketing and/or merchandising articles. |
 |
Experience with handling public relations of large and international public events. |
 |
Experience with managing a film and photographers team |
 |
Experience with procuring and managing international suppliers |
 |
Astronomical expertise is desirable, but not a must. |
 |
Capacity to communicate Eclipse-City's strategy and programs to all relevant stakeholders, worldwide (clients, sponsors, local and international authorities, international media, etc.). |
 |
Strong intrapersonal and multicultural communication skills. Proven ability to work with international media and dissemination of information. |
 |
Proven project management ability to meet deadlines and fulfill our clients and sponsorship agreements. |
 |
Ability to work independently and sometimes, in austere environments (Siberia, North Western China) and foreign languages and cultures |
 |
Excellent English, grammatical and proofreading skills; strong general MS office skills. Other European languages, are additional assets, Chinese or Russian would be perfect (but not a must) |
 |

| This position is a part-time/freelance position during 2007, with the goal to convert into full-time during 2008. Reporting is to Managing Director. |
