2009: Second International Solar Eclipse Summit in Shanghai, China
InterSoles 2, an eclipse forum started by Eclipse-City in 2008 again addressed a large number of eclipse "novices" or visitors with little astronomy background. Everyone was the target group for InterSoles, but especially families with children or people wishing to get approached in plain language to the subject of solar eclipses, astronomy, history of eclipses, astro-photography, telescopes and much more. The forum was guided by international experts and accompanied by multimedia, movies, sky observation, photographic exhibitions, equipment on
display, etc. InterSoles 2 will took place at the Shangri-La Pudong hotel in Shanghai just one day prior to the longest total solar eclipse of the century on 22 July 2009.
If you like to see the whole eclipse, check out www.eclipse-tv.com, a co-production between Astro Native Technologies and Eclipse-City. You may also check CNN reports at Eclipse-City (during InterSoles-2 with children astronomy workshop and Eclipse-City associate Charles Fulco, at Eclipse-City observation site for the press and media
at Yangshan Island with Eclipse-City associate Xavier Jubier).
Following the conference, Eclipse-City Managing Director Federico Avellán Borgmeyer announced Eclipse-City's plan B program to Chong Qing due to deteriorating weather conditions in the Shanghai - Hangzhou Bay - Yangshan Island region. Customers that signed up with the program saw the Longest Total Solar Eclipse of The Century in full extent.
