PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Design and manage eclipse related as well as on-site tourist programs |

| PRINCIPAL DUTIES |
 |
Liaise with local authorities (e.g. tourism boards), suppliers (theater, camp builders), media and DMC |
 |
Elaborate marketing material for trade shows, collaterals, Eclipse-City web-site in Japanese, English and other European languages for the Japanese program, in line with Eclipse-City's Corporate Identity |
 |
Make sure, all lodging (hotels), transportation (flights, train, 4x4, helicopter, and other), food & beverage, entertainment, safety & security, visa issues, camp building, etc. suppliers and contracts are secured well in advance and management of all aforementioned stakeholders |
 |
Interface the activities of other Eclipse-City areas with regard to the Japanese program fulfillment (e.g. Merchandising, Media, Customers, etc.) |
 |
Make sure ALL Eclipse-City clients and sponsors obtain their previously paid and respective products/services during the Eclipse-Program 2009 |
 |
Be the number one source of contact for ALL related topics to the Eclipse-City's programs in Japan |
 |
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED
At least four years experience in event management and/or travel and tourism with direct responsibility for implementing compact and stressful travel packages. Proven ability to achieve large scale projects with international clients. |
 |
Experience with large international events or adventure related travels are a must. Astronomical travel expertise is desirable, but not a must |
 |
Capacity to convert Eclipse-City programs in the Japanese market |
 |
Strong management skills and proven ability to coordinate Japanese suppliers, dissemination of information and collaborate among other Eclipse-City departments and other partner organizations (e.g. Eclipse-City distributors) |
 |
Proven project management ability to meet deadlines and fulfill clients and sponsorship agreements |
 |
Ability to work independently and sometimes, in austere environments (???) and foreign languages and cultures |
 |
Excellent English and Japanese oral, grammatical and proofreading skills; strong general MS office skills. Other European languages, are additional assets |
 |
Strong entrepreneurial drive |
 |
This position requires strong travel and outplacement (Japan) |
 |
| This position is a part-time/freelance position during 2008/2009. Reporting is to Managing Director. |
